What is F1 in Schools™?

F1 in Schools™ is a worldwide STEAM competition (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). It was first organised in the UK by Andrew Denford and has been expanding ever since. Today it is attended by a lot of countries and therefore a lot of students.

F1 in Schools™ has multiple sides. The engineering part is especially helpful to those wishing to study in any engineering field as it involves using CAD (Computer Aided Design) programmes such as Fusion 360 and learning about aerodynamics, forces, pressure, Virtual testing and a lot of other interesting topics. It also teaches one of the main manufacturing processes for prototypes. For example, the selection of materials, the use of CNC technology, the use of 3D printing and a variety of other subjects. The Enterprising part teaches students how to run a business. Topics under this category include, but are not limited to: resource management, sponsorship, marketing, social media, logo designing, and business management depending on each member’s role.

Each F1 in Schools™ team consists of up to 6 Main Members and some support members. Edge Racing has 6 main members and 2 support members. Learn more about them under Meet the team.
